A zipped folder is like a backpack for your computer files.

Imagine you have a bunch of papers, drawings, and books you want to carry. If you put them all into your backpack and zip it up, it’s easier to carry, and nothing falls out. Plus, the backpack might even squish the stuff a little so it takes up less space.

That’s what a zipped folder does on your computer — it packs a bunch of files into a tiny folder, making it easier to share, send, or save. And when you’re ready to use the stuff inside, you unzip it.

How to unzip a zipped folder:

Most PC/Mac computers can open a zipped folder. After you download the zipped folder to your computer, double-click or right-click and choose “Extract” or “Unzip,” and it will open like a regular folder. If you have any challenges, you’ll find loads of tutorials on YouTube or when you search on your favorite search engine.
